Job Title: Digital Music Instructor – Teen Program

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Teen Program Digital Video Instructor will be responsible for the development of curriculum and daily instruction of two sessions of digital music class. The classes will consist of 8 students approximately 1 ? hours a day 4 days a week with a half hour of paid planning time per day. Responsibilities will include:

1. Daily, prepare and maintain the classroom.
2. Keep track of attendance and inform administrative assistant of absences
3. Check the security of lab twice daily, document those checks
4. Develop daily lesson plans and larger units for digital music class
5. Instruct classes and manage classroom
6. Ensure the creation and completion of digital music projects by each student or student group throughout the semester
7. Facilitate and maintain the policies and procedures of the program
8. Manage students within the program framework and ensure the safety and dignity of all students is maintained
9. Assist students with work and homework if time allows
10. Attend all program and parent meetings as assigned.
11. Maintain respectful and cooperative relationships with the students and their families
12. Observe strict confidentiality regarding all student / family matters
13. Perform other duties as assigned

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONTACTS:

3. Intentionally maintaining open dialogue and verbal/written communication to eliminate chaos, confusion, and misunderstanding.

5. Develops and maintains smooth, cooperative working relationships with others.

Additionally, all staff is responsible for the following:

1. Commitment to the mission of Project H.O.M.E.
2. Work at establishing a base of trust with each resident.
3. Develop good working relationships among community and staff.
4. Continue to learn about mental illness, addictions, and dually diagnosed residents.
5. Accept residents "where they are at" while working to assist them.
6. Observe confidentiality, privacy, and dignity of each resident.

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor?s Degree in Education, technology or related field. Two years experience working with youth. Strong computer skills (MS Office, Publisher, etc.), excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in Protools and Reason. Ability to create lesson plans, to effectively keep order/manage a classroom and develop relationships with students and parents. Satisfactory responses to criminal history check and child abuse clearance check.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
General Housekeeping duties (sweeping, dusting, organizing teaching materials, working in the kitchen), and meal preparation when necessary. Standing and sitting for long periods of time. Each new employee must undergo a physical examination and a tuberculosis test.

WORKING HOURS:
During the School Year: M-TR 4 pm- 6 pm
