Get it right – Extended Learning Opportunity

School is in and after school programs are gearing up. The new phrases for after school programs are Extended Learning Opportunity (ELO) or Out-of-School Time (OST). October 5 is the start date for 225 students attending Widener Partnership Charter School Star Programat 1450 Edgemont Ave. in Chester. Maggie Burns, Site Director announced the ELO will serve children in grades K-7 throughout the school year from 3:00-6 p.m.

The school will provide academic programs and Chester Education Foundation (CEF) and CTC members will provide enrichment programs such as clubs and educational trips.  Students can also expect themed months such as ‘civics’ that would include an outing to the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. CEF is seeking individuals to facilitate clubs. To start a club, contact Stephanie at 610-364-1212.

The Widener ELO is seeking teachers to staff the program who have a teaching degree or classroom experience. All positions require current clearances. To apply, or to get additional details, contact Maggie Burns at 610-990-8697, or Natalie Delva, CEF Program Coordinator at 610-364-1212. Email is kmburns@mail.widener.edu, or ndelva@chestereducation.org.
