Posted by on January 24, 2003

Florida Campus Compact, in collaboration with Campus Compact and COOL (Campus Outreach Opportunity League) will be sponsoring a National Student Summit on February 21-23 in Miami, Florida entitled “Learning the Lessons of Social Movements”(all day Friday and Saturday, with Saturday night fun at South Beach and an optional service project Sunday morning). Sessions will be held at Miami-Dade Community College’s Wolfson Campus and the $40 registration includes meals.

NOTE TO FACULTY AND STUDENT AFFAIRS STAFF: WE NEED YOUR HELP! Will you please recruit and organize student attendance and/or a workshop presentation at this exciting national student conference! Will you help us assure that your campus is well-represented, by calling the hotel NOW to reserve rooms and then facilitating/organizing your students? transportation and registration?!? Please let us know if you can help us in this way. Info on the conference and a proposal to present form is attached and also described below. It promises to be a great gathering and your assistance now will serve your students well. This summit has been organized as part of Campus Compact’s Raise Your Voice — A Week of Action campaign. We expect approximately 250 students from all over the United States to attend. The Summit is called “Learning the Lessons of Social Movements” and will explore ways that students and others have made effective social change, as well as leadership, and the strategies and skills needed to make a difference.
