Opportunity Finance Network has two exciting positions available on our Strategic Consulting Team!

OFN’s Strategic Consulting Team focuses their services in three main areas:

1.    CDFI Performance: To help CDFIs improve their financial, operating, and management performance to have greater impact in their communities.  Topics frequently cover: business and strategic planning, lending policies and procedures, risk management, staffing, new product development, and growth planning.

2.    Investor Services: To help banks and foundations who invest in CDFIs design and implement investment strategies to meet their organization’s objectives, whether it is to further the mission of the foundation or to achieve community reinvestment objectives. Topics frequently cover: due diligence of potential investments, or developing a new CDFI investment strategy.

3.    Capacity Building Services: To help organizations, including government agencies and foundations, build the capacity of the CDFI Industry to serve low and moderate income communities more effectively.  Typical topics include: building lending sectors, increasing geographic or product coverage, or building leadership capacity.

Staff Consultant
Fulltime, Philadelphia, PA based position seeks a vibrant team member to:

*     Lead complex, multi-faceted capacity building programs that involve training and technical assistance.  This responsibility involves working with subject matter experts within and external to OFN to offer transformative opportunities to industry participants.

*     Provide one-to-one consulting services to CDFIs including but not limited to:

o    Business and strategic planning.

o    Risk management.

o    Innovative change, including technology and partnerships.

o    Process improvement to increase efficiency and impact.

*     Provide consulting services to CDFI funders, CDFI investors, and other non-CDFI parties with the goal of increasing their understanding of the CDFI industry and ultimately their capacity to invest in the industry.

*     Across all consulting services, effectively deliver consulting services through phone consultations, site visits, interviews, and written reports. Work with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure successful delivery of services.

*     Build and manage successful relationships with clients, and ensure outstanding quality in all aspects of the engagement.

*     Diagnose client needs, and write proposals to offer OFN services to prospective clients.

Consulting Operations Specialist
Fulltime, Philadelphia, PA based position seeks a vibrant team member to:

*     Manage the operational elements of consulting engagements, including activities such as:

o    Meeting planning, including locations, IT, meals, room set up, and supplies

o    Enrollment in training events

o    Communications with attendees of training events

o    Organization of internal and external personnel

*     Develop a system for the development of training and other consulting materials

o    Work with content developers to ensure on-time delivery of materials

o    Ensure quality standards are known and followed

o    Archive and disseminate materials as protocols designate

o    Manage application and evaluation surveys for consulting engagements

*     Ensure administrative functions are efficiently implemented

o    Manage the invoicing of clients and receipt of bills from subcontractors

o    Ensure all contracts are completed and properly logged

o    Monitor and facilitate tracking of time and expenses

o    Develop reports to track utilization, revenue, and expenses

o    Make suggestions for improving the efficiency of the team

o    Help the team adopt and implement new systems, such as Salesforce

o    Manage travel arrangements for consulting team and engagements

*     Support marketing and proposal development activities

o    Help with the development of proposals and marketing tools

o    Coordinate communication and tactics between consulting, development, and  marketing team

o    Manage marketing functions such as cVent, group emails for trainings and webinars, maintenance and updating of the consulting pages on the OFN Web site

o    Active management of email lists for marketing, subcontractor relationships, and client relationships.
