Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and Changemakers Announce Competition for Solutions to Domestic Violence
Deadline: March 28, 2007

"No Private Matter! Ending Abuse in Intimate & Family Relations," an online, open source, collaborative competition co-sponsored by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (<a href="http://www.rwjf.org/">http://www.rwjf.org/</a>) and Changemakers (<a href="http://www.changemakers.net/">http://www.changemakers.net/</a>), seeks to stimulate new thinking and solicit innovative approaches from the field to help eliminate intimate partner violence in the United States.

Changemakers, an initiative of Ashoka: Innovators for the Public (<a href="http://www.ashoka.org/">http://www.ashoka.org/</a>), focuses on the rapidly growing world of social innovation.

Competition entries are posted online and are available for anyone to view and collaborate with by providing new ideas, asking questions, and providing connections to new resources. The collaboration provides the competitor information to be used in refining their entry until the entry deadline.

There is a three-week review period following the entry deadline, after which judges select approximately twelve finalists. After the twelve finalists are announced, there will be a two-week period for the Changemakers community to vote for the finalists.

The top three vote-getters will be announced as competition winners, with each receiving a $5,000 award.

Visit the Changemakers Web site for further information.
