Job description
About LIFT

LIFT’s mission is to help community members achieve economic stability and well-being. We are working to establish a new standard for holistic and enduring solutions in our country’s fight against poverty. Today, LIFT deploys trained volunteer advocates in community centers in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC, to serve low-income individuals and families. LIFT’s members and advocates work one-on-one to find jobs, secure safe and stable housing, make ends meet through public benefits and tax credits, and obtain quality referrals for services like childcare and healthcare that help members move themselves forward. The LIFT experience also pushes advocates to grapple with our country’s most challenging issues related to poverty, race, inequality, and public policy. Since LIFT’s founding, nearly 10,000 volunteer advocates have served more than 60,000 individuals and families.

About the Position

LIFT-Philadelphia is seeking a passionate leader who embodies the LIFT mission to join our team by serving as a Site Coordinator. This position is an AmeriCorps position based at our West Philadelphia location and is a wonderful opportunity to join a growing organization.

The position is a two year commitment. The two years of service will begin January, 2014 and end on January, 2016. Preference will be given for candidates who commit to the full two years of service; however, we will consider outstanding candidates who can only commit to one year of service. Site Coordinators report to the Program Manager of LIFT-Philadelphia.
