Service-Learning Leadership Awards

Honor those who have made a mark on the service-learning field!

Nominate a single person or a group of people for one of the outstanding service-learning awards that will be presented at the 17th Annual National Service-Learning Conference in Philadelphia, PA, March 22 ?25, 2006.

The State Farm Service-Learning Practitioner Leadership Award recognizes practitioners who have equipped young people to lead and serve, both through their direct service-learning instruction with youths and by nurturing other practitioners to expand their service-learning skills and knowledge. Each year, this award is presented to a teacher or community member who has created this living legacy through service-learning practice.

The State Farm Youth Leadership for Service-Learning Excellence Award recognizes kindergarten through 12th-grade service-learning programs and projects that demonstrate outstanding youth leadership. The award focuses on projects that uniquely demonstrate youth leadership for service-learning excellence, defined as incorporating key elements of high quality service-learning and having a sustainable impact on the participants and the broader community.

The National Youth Leadership Council?s Alec Dickson Servant Leader Award recognizes an individual who, by setting an example, helps all of us grow and become more capable of service, and thus has an impact on the field of service-learning. The recipient of the Alec Dickson Award personifies the characteristics of leadership, courage, creativity, and compassion.
