The Pew Charitable Trusts, an independent nonprofit, is driven by the power of knowledge to solve today’s most challenging problems. Pew applies a rigorous, analytical approach to improve public policy, inform the public and stimulate civic life. The Northeast Forage Fish Campaign advocates conserving abundant populations of forage species is necessary to ensure the long-term health and productivity of marine ecosystems. Accordingly, the campaign will promote a precautionary, ecosystem-based approach to the management of northeastern U.S. forage species.

The senior associate will work with the Manager, New England Fisheries Campaign to design and implement coalition building, public education and communications strategies for Pew’s Mid-Atlantic forage fish conservation work. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of four years of professional experience in natural resources conservation and related public policy work, including experience analyzing public policies and conducting research for advocacy campaigns. Experience with ocean and marine conservation issues preferred.

This position is approved through September 2012, subject to renewal. The senior associate reports to the Manager, New England Fisheries Campaign and is located in the Mid-Atlantic region, preferably in Philadelphia, PA.
