Security Guard, Congreso de Latinos Unidos
Congreso de Latinos Unidos, Inc. is currently seeking a two full-time Security Guards within the Administrative Division of Congreso. The security guard is responsible for guarding, patrolling and monitoring premises to avoid theft, violence and the infraction of rules. His/her role is to safeguard the assets and people within the premises and campus of the agency.
Congreso is a multiservice nonprofit organization whose mission is to strengthen Latino communities through social, economic, education, and health services; leadership development and advocacy. Founded in Philadelphia in 1977, Congreso has grown into a national thought leader on nonprofit performance management with an expert focus on the Latino community. Congreso is anchored by its innovative Primary Client Model (PCM™), and provides direct services to residents of the Philadelphia region while providing consult to other nonprofits and government systems nationally.
1. Patrols the building and surrounding areas to prevent and detect signs of intrusion.
2. Ensures the security of gates, doors and windows.
3. Monitors and authorizes the entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and staff.
4. Writes reports of daily activities and irregularities such as property damage, theft, entrance of unauthorized people and unusual occurrences
5. Contacts police and fire departments regarding emergency situations.
6. Circulates premises in a constant time frame.
7. Warns people when infractions of rules are made.
8. Inspects and adjusts security systems on needed basis.
Experience, Education, and Licensure
Previous security experience.
Knowledge of public safety codes and security procedures.
Good communication and writing skills.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
High School Diploma or GED.
Security Guard certification preferred.
