We are looking for one day and multi-session volunteers for several opportunities below.

Science Fair Mentoring (7 sessions)
Tuesdays, Feb 11, 18, 25, March 4, 11, April 8 and 22
from either 9:15-10, 10-11:15, 11:15-12:30, or 1:45-3
Martha Washington School
44th and Aspen, Phila.

Scienteer mentors meet with a group of four students once a week for a 9 week period to guide the planning and implementation of a science fair project.

Science Club Mentoring (10 sessions)
Science Synergy Competition –
mid-Feb to May
12-1pm, Wed.
Northwood Academy
4621 Castor Ave, Phila.

mid-Feb to May,
3:15-4:15pm, day TBD
Cook Wissahickon
201 E. Salaignac St., Phila
Students are competing in a pilot competition in June modeled after the Science Olympiad.  In preparation, a science club will meet weekly to tackle engineering challenges, science trivia, and other tasks they may face in June.  We would like mentors to help the students prepare.

Sprint Solar Car Club –
March-June, 3:15-4:30
Northwood, schedule TBD
Students build model solar cars for a competition in June.  We would like mentors who are familiar with mechanical engineering or car design.

Science Fair Judges (one day)
Feb. 13th, 9AM-3PM
Belmont Science Fair

Cassidy Science Fair
6523 Lansdowne Ave, Phila.

Students show off their hard work and get feedback from actual scientists and engineers!  By being a judge at a school’s science fair, you add value to the students’ work!
