GRADUATE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION DEADLINE:

Applications must be RECEIVED by 5:00 PM, EDT, FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 2003

Through a generous grant from the Spencer Foundation, Campus Compact is offering 15 $1000.00 dollars of competitive conference scholarships to graduate students who are conducting research on topics related to advancing our understanding of service-learning in K-12 education, teacher education, and/or higher education. Scholarship awards will be between $500 and $1,000. The scholarship can be used to pay for any reimbursable (non-personal) conference-related expense including airfare, hotel accommodations, conference registration, ground transportation, conference material copying, meals, etc.

Scholarship eligibility requirements are as follows:

1) Scholarship recipients must be registered as a masters or doctoral student during the 2003-2004 academic year in an accredited graduate program OR be a recent graduate of an accredited graduate program, having received a masters or doctorate after January 1, 2003.

2) The central component of the scholarship recipient’s scholarly work must be focused on service-learning theory, research, and/or practice.

NOTE: You do not have to be a presenter at the conference to be eligible for a scholarship. However, preference will be given to students whose proposals are selected for presentation.
