The Community Health Training Alliance presents HIV Prevention and Education Virtual Conference, Continuing the Work during the COVID-19 Pandemic, June 1-30, 2020

Philadelphia FIGHT’s 1st virtual conference! Join us for a series of webinars throughout the month of June, discussing the importance of HIV prevention, treatment, and justice against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The HIV Prevention and Education Virtual Conference, our first virtual conference, welcomes all people interested in learning more about the wide-range of issues that impact people living with HIV (PLWH/A) and the AIDS epidemic at large. With COVID-19 Pandemic in mind, we will also offer presentations on this contagion specific to its implications on the lives of those living with HIV and other high-risk health-related issues promoting prevention as a key to minimize its spread.

This conference will provide information on the latest treatment, research, prevention, and outreach strategies and aims to bring forward explicitly the social determinants of health that place people at risk. These determinants include stigma, institutional racism, transphobia, homophobia, healthcare access, economic injustice, housing insecurity, and mental health to name a few.

The HIV Prevention and Education Virtual Conference will share evidence-based strategies, and best practices to prevent HIV, link individuals to care and provide culturally competent services to all individuals. The conference explains vital health information in non-academic language and aims to amplify the voices of PLWHA and ensures that people with lived experiences are able to stand as experts in workshops and discussions.
