RSVP AND COMMUNITY SERVICES COORDINATOR – KleinLife Senior Services

Position Summary

The RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) and Community Services Coordinator reports to Director of RSVP at the KleinLife.  The RSVP and Community Services Coordinator is responsible for recruiting and overseeing new and existing Volunteers in RSVP and providing case management, information and referrals and supportive counseling to the clients of the Home Delivered meal program and the NORC.  He/she will also support the Program Director as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1.RSVP duties

  • Supervise volunteers who work onsite in RSVP signature programs such as Home Delivered Meals.
  • Creates new and innovative programs for outreach and marketing RSVP for volunteer recruitment
  • Ensures that all commensurate paperwork for new and current volunteer stations, as well as volunteers is completed.
  • Develops and implements a plan for increasing the number of significant community partnerships including non-profits and corporations in Center City, South Philadelphia, and the surrounding areas to increase the number of volunteers
  1. Home delivered meals program duties
  • Conduct intakes, social services assessments of new and existing clients in the office, via phone or home visits, if appropriate.
  • If appropriate, create an action plan.  The plan indicates needs and recommended services including but not limited to home maintenance, repairs, home delivered and congregant meals, food pantry, KleinLife membership, transportation, etc.
  • Connect clients to community resources.  Assist and advocate in connecting to public benefits if needed.
  • Follow up with clients to assure connectivity and provide support for clients for various issues.
  • Responsible for maintaining logs, data entry, statistical reports for all programs.
  • Supervises staff in absence of Director.
  • Assists in Senior Services Department activities as needed.

Qualifications 

  1. Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or other appropriate degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in formatting partnerships and collaborations
  • Experience in program development and implementation, as well as Marketing/Promotions preferred
  1. Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Publisher preferred
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle
