The Center for Nonviolence and Social Justice at Drexel University is looking for a Research Associate to join the team.

Job Overview

The Department of Emergency Medicine in the Drexel University College of Medicine is seeking a full-time Research Associate to oversee data management activities and coordinate logistics related to a multi-site outcome evaluation of Healing Hurt People (HHP), a hospital-based violence intervention program that provides trauma-informed case management services to violently injured patients with the aim of preventing violent re-injury, violent retaliation, and addressing the psychological trauma of violence. The effectiveness of HHP is being evaluated through a multi-site study that involves intervention and control groups at four hospitals across Philadelphia. Drexel will be the Data Coordinating Center for the multi-site study.

Qualifications

A BA/BS in the health sciences, social sciences, or related field with 3 to 5 years of professional experience is required or master’s/doctoral-level degree with comparable professional experience. Candidates with a master’s or doctoral degree in a relevant field will be preferred. The ideal candidate will have database management experience in a research or non-profit setting, expertise in SAS, Excel, and REDCap. They will also have experience with research design, Institutional Review Board submissions, quantitative data analysis, strong organizational, writing, and communication skills, and demonstrated ability to complete multiple tasks in a timely fashion.

Essential Functions

The primary function of this position will be the management of study data. The Research Associate will be responsible for developing and managing multiple databases containing study data, overseeing data collection, performing quality assurance activities related to data collection, producing reports, and completing of a host of administrative tasks related to the study, such as ensuring compliance with Institutional Review Board protocols and coordinating research activities across all four hospitals. The Research Associate will work independently and in close collaboration with the study’s statistician and other research personnel. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
