In 2009, more than 8 million households with children in the United States were food insecure. In those households, nearly 1 million children simply didn’t get enough to eat. It’s a startling statistic but one that we can change, and you can help.  USDA urges you and your organization to make a commitment to become a Champion to End Hunger in your community. At http://www.endhunger.usda.gov you can learn about childhood hunger, what actions you can take to end hunger, and find volunteer opportunities in your community through USDA’s partnership with the Corporation for National and Community Service and Serve.Gov.

Join us for the Recruiting Volunteers and Ending Childhood Hunger Webinar to learn more about the Ending Childhood Hunger initiative and the Serve.Gov site.  Topics for the webinar include:

·         How to Make a Commitment to End Childhood Hunger

·         Stakeholder Guide for how to End Childhood Hunger in your community

·         How to post volunteer opportunities on Serve.Gov

This session will be available via Microsoft Office LiveMeeting (Webinar) and is free for all participants.  You will need access to a phone line and a computer with internet access for this webinar.  Check your system before the meeting to make sure it is ready to use Microsoft Office Live Meeting.
