The Recovery Engagement Specialist position provides direct services to the Drug/Alcohol programs, adults and adolescent participants. This position is supervised by the Drug/Alcohol Support Services Coordinator and works very closely with the BHS case managers and counselors/therapist to plan and coordinate recovery services to all program participants admitted in the program. The Director of Behavioral Health Services supervises the position in the absence of the Drug/Alcohol Support Services Coordinator. The Recovery Engagement Specialist’s duties are summarized as: 1) Provide direct service provide recovery support/social services to adult and adolescent participants while active in the D/A programs, co-facilitate groups for participants as assigned, and conduct outreach activities to reach out program participants who are in need of recovery support services and assistance, and as assigned to complete admission’s screenings and the BHSI application, 2) Administrative tasks: manage D & A program referrals for recovery support services, , and complete any necessary report and documentation for services provided 3) Contract Compliance: ensures that documentation is in compliance according to D/A program, agency, and funder policy and standards, participate in audits site visits with funders.

Minimum Experience: 1-2+ years of related experience, preferably working within a substance abuse, public health, and/or counseling context, preferably with at-risk adolescents.

Minimum Education: BA/BA degree from an accredited college or university with a field of study in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or other social science related field.
