Job Summary:

This position is responsible for supervising PRS Workers who are providing mobile psychiatric rehabilitation services to participants in need of skills training, symptom management, and resource coordination in the areas of living, learning, working, and socialization. The PRS Specialist II will also carry a caseload and provide recovery-oriented interventions according to each participant’s rehabilitation plan. The Specialist II will provide input to the team regarding participants’ progress, goal attainment and continued need for services. Additionally, the Specialist II may be responsible for other administrative duties and responsibilities as assigned by the PRS Director, such as facilitating concurrent reviews with CBH, assisting with billing responsibilities, and providing ongoing training and support to the PRS team. The Specialist II will also serve as a positive role model and leader within the team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leadership – Possesses and demonstrates confidence, assertiveness and the ability to manage staff and direct certain program operations as assigned. Ability to prioritize and complete tasks and projects as assigned; models and maintains objectivity and displays a fair and level approach to conflict resolution and problem solving. Assists the PRS director in activities that promote the attainment of goals/outcomes related to Project HOME’s strategic plan focusing on housing retention, medical/behavioral health care, education and employment.
  • Supervision – Provides direct supervision to individuals in PRS Worker positions. Ability to set and maintain regular supervision schedules with supervisees, monitor their performance and productivity, and offer skills-teaching and support in areas that require growth or improvement. Will work collaboratively with the PRS Director and Manager of Clinical Services to audit supervisees’ documentation and promote continuous quality improvement.
  • Clinical Skills & Knowledge – Utilizes experience, up-to-date knowledge of psychiatric rehabilitation principles and recovery-oriented approaches to provide sound clinical services; demonstrates ability to provide skills training and teaching; demonstrates ability to build rapport and show positive regard for participants; focuses on empowerment while supporting and/or educating participants to achieve their personal goals; able to model and teach participants how to become active participants in recovery process.
  • Liaison – Establishes and maintains relationships and communication with other services and providers to ensure continuity of care, resource coordination and effectiveness of services and supports; maintains positive relationships and communication with families and/or significant others; serves as the organization’s representative while participating in meetings.
  • Organizational Skills – Demonstrates ability to work independently in the community by managing time and daily schedule, making decisions with participants in the field and acting on them as needed, adjusting schedule based on emergencies and/or priorities, meeting daily and monthly productivity requirements and scheduling and keeping supervisory appointments on a routine basis.
  • Crisis Management – Ability to recognize and manage client crisis situations effectively.
  • Documentation – Effective management of documentation responsibilities by maintaining accurate records of all interactions with participants, other providers, vendors and representatives from external organizations; adheres to documentation guidelines as established by regulatory bodies and internal policies.
  • Marketing and Recruitment- Develop relationships with targeted individuals who would benefit from PRS services.
  • Collaborative Team Work – Ability to work closely with PRS team members towards common goals. Includes attending, participating and progress reporting in weekly team meetings. The PRS Specialist may also be responsible for facilitation of team meetings in the absence of the PRS Director.
  • Facilitate groups and classes – Conduct outreach for and facilitate groups and classes, including Wellness Self-Management.
  • Staff Recruitment & Development – Practices a proactive approach to recruiting so as to ensure the availability and hiring of a diverse and qualified pool of professionals to fill available positions; provides orientation, training, coaching, supervision, discipline and evaluation to ensure the retention of high quality staff and the provision of effective service; ensures that staff are availed of relevant professional development opportunities to enhance the variety and quality of services.
  • May be responsible for performing other administrative duties as assigned by or in absence of the PRS Director.
  • Performs All Other Duties as Assigned
