The Postsecondary Opportunity division is a unit of the Philadelphia Education Fund, a not-for-profit organization whose mission it is to improve the quality of public education in Philadelphia and the region, so that youth are prepared for college and careers. The Postsecondary Opportunity division is comprised of three programs – the College Access Program (CAP), the Philadelphia Postsecondary Success Program (PPSP), and the Philadelphia Scholars Program – all of which, together and in partnership with Philadelphia public schools, universities, community groups and businesses, to improve access to and success in postsecondary education for students from high need Philadelphia schools. PhillyGoes2College has recently transitioned from the City of Philadelphia; Mayor’s Office of Education to Philadelphia Education Fund to join the Postsecondary Opportunity division and serves all Philadelphians.

This position will report to the Director of PhillyGoes2College. The Program Manager will drive the implementation of PhillyGoes2College’s program and communication strategy, as well as technical assistance and outreach priorities.

Responsibilities:
Program and Strategy (35%)
 Cultivate and maintain ongoing partnerships with organizations that provide college prep services. Build synergies and leverage resources with and amongst other organizations.
 Create opportunities for local college access organizations to jointly participate in city-wide events and programs.
 Support development of initiatives/programs in response to clients needs around college going issues.
 Coordinate and successfully execute both small and large-scale, college related events offered by PhillyGoes2College, including all outreach, marketing, development/enhancement, and logistics coordinating.
 Responsible for maintenance and enhancement of data and record keeping systems.

Communications (35 %)
 Support in the creation of a communications strategy (with annual communications goals), in utilizing both traditional and new media to increase the visibility of PG2C.
 Oversee the growth and maintenance of our quality referral system, including the information collecting, gathering and dissemination.
 Manage the development, editing and distribution of print materials including brochures, flyers and other collateral.
 Manage (with support from intern) Textizen platform
 Oversee the necessary website development and ongoing upkeep and maintenance. Work with outside vendors where necessary to enhance website functions.
 Oversee intern’s management of content for the website, e-newsletter, blogs, and social media in collaboration with the PhillyGoes2College Director Consultant.

Technical Assistance and Outreach (30%)
 Coordinate and facilitate technical assistance workshops to build staff capacity on college access information at partner sites (3 annual trainings).
 Manage relationships (share PG2C resources, coordination of potential additional workshops) with partner sites.
 Coordinate, and at times facilitate citywide workshops for students (like SAT prep, FAFSA).
 Outreach to schools, religious organizations, recreation centers, etc. to promote PhillyGoes2College services.
 Answer phone inquiries about college related issues.

Qualifications:
 Bachelor’s degree required
 Strong knowledge of college preparation, college readiness, admissions and financial aid
 Experience working with students, families and/or community, especially those who are low income and potential first generation college attendees
 Experience convening and organizing a diverse coalition of stakeholders
 Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously to produce high quality results quickly and on time
 Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team with great energy, persistence, and dedication
 Critical thinking, problem solving, accuracy, and attention to detail
 Excellent communications skills, both oral and written, including computer skills
 Ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies, such as school staff, university staff, parents and community groups, as well as with diverse racial and ethnic group
