Position Title: Program Manager
Grade: 11
Reports To: Associate Unit Director
Department: Center for Youth Development

Position Summary: Supervise and review the work of Program Development Coordinators charged with conducting Core Standards and Pennsylvania state child care licensing assessments and assisting after school and youth development programs in enhancing the quality of their programs with training and technical assistance support.

NOTE: Position is funded through June 30, 2003, however, the project has potential for additional funding.

Job Responsibilities:

? Supervise and review work of 6-7 Program Development Coordinators.
? Coordinate and produce reports relevant to work of Program Development Coordinators as required by United Way and respective funders.
? Conduct trainings on Core Standards and other related program topics, as needed.
? Research BEST practices and existing resources for after school and youth development programs and help connect providers with resources.

Qualifications:
? Bachelor?s Degree in related field.
? At least 2 years supervisory experience with professional staff.
? Program management experience.
? At least 5 years experience working with youth programs and 2 in providing training and/or technical support to various levels of agency staff.
? Strong written and verbal communication skills.
? Strong planning and organizational skills.
? Knowledge of positive youth development principles.
? Ability to work with and engage others from diverse cultures and diverse sectors of the community.
? Strong commitment to the youth development field.
? Familiarity with Philadelphia?s neighborhoods.
? Knowledge of Pennsylvania state child care licensing process and its requirements preferred.
? Written/spoken proficiency in Spanish, Chinese, Korean or at least one Southeast Asian language is a plus.
