Power Hour: College recruitment & info session for Phila HS youth

Posted by Temple University on April 9, 2018

This spring, Temple will be hosting events designed to help our Philadelphia area high school students on their college selection process.

“Power Hour” was developed to help expose Philadelphia area HS students to the various majors offered at Temple, and the careers these majors can lead to. Power Hour will allow our amazing Temple Faculty/Staff/Student/Alumni to share their stories with prospective students. We are looking to have a diverse group of students represented, with as many majors/professions represented as possible to help further expose high school students to careers beyond what they may already know or be considering.

The goal of #PowerHour is to:

1. Increase students’ exposure to potential majors/careers by speaking with current students/alumni/faculty

2. Allow students to attend a panel session presented by Alumni/Current Students (STEM, Business, Arts, Education, Communications) on their academic/career journey

3. Engage with current TU students can on the steps needed to matriculate successfully and identify the correct major for them

Power Hour will take place:

Thursday, April 26, 2018, 12PM-2:30PM
Temple University-Welcome Center
1101 W. Montgomery Avenue
