FREE Professional Development: Planning for High Quality Service Learning to Address Common Core Standards
August 2, 2016 9am-3pm

New Foundations Charter School is excited to provide a FREE professional development opportunity to Philadelphia educators on connecting service learning to common core state standards. During the day long professional development on August 2nd, participants will work collaboratively with award winning educators and service learning practitioners to explore how service learning can be used to deepen understanding and application of the common core state standards for PA.

Service learning is a teaching and learning strategy that integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to enrich the learning experience, teach civic responsibility, and strengthen communities. New Foundations Charter School is nationally known for its service learning integration and rates as one of the top public schools in Philadelphia based on academic achievement.

NFCS is excited to partner with the Philadelphia School Partnership, and service learning practitioner Maddy Wegner on this initiative.

All participants will walk away with over $150 in instructional resources, and become eligible for an additional $200 mini-grant and ongoing mentoring from NFCS experts!

Participation is limited to 50 total educators, and limited to 3 educators per school. Once we receive your registration, we will send you a confirmation within 72 hours.
