Title of internship: Photo Documentary Internship

Start Date: January 2007
End Date: August 2007

Expected number of hours per week: Average of 2+ hours per week

The hours are (or could be): during office hours, evenings, weekends, as needed

Compensation: volunteer or college credit

Description of internship: Philagrafika will launch the program RePrint (working title), which will include three artist residencies, site-specific installations, a publication, a symposium and an exhibition. Project coordinator, Caitlin Perkins, will schedule times for the intern to photograph the artists in residence at varying stages of the project from beginning to completion, and then archive the images appropriately, as well ability to prepare the images for use in publications and more. The intern must provide his or her own transportation to sites in Philadelphia or surrounding region and have at least some availability, or the flexibility to attain availability, on weekdays, weekends days and evenings to accommodate the as-yet unknown schedules of the artists and production. Documentation may be used as part of the publication, publicity of print or web, archive, education or other related purposes now or in the future.

Specific skills needed: Photography skills, including proficiency in Adobe Photoshop are a must. Philagrafika has a digital camera for use, or intern can use his or her own equipment. Video/video editing skills and equipment are helpful but not required. A flexible schedule is a must, as is the ability to provide intern?s own transportation. Philagrafika seeks a self-motivated intern who can work independently, who demonstrates creativity and vision.
