Peer Group Facilitator for the TANF-Microfinance Demonstration Project

The Center seeks a Peer Group Facilitator to implement the Sanctuary Model’s SELF Peer Support Group structure within a new Microfinance/Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) demonstration project at the Center for Hunger-Free Communities.  In the spirit of the Center’s primary goal to find science-based solutions to hunger and economic insecurity, this project seeks to investigate how access to conventional banking, financial literacy, group savings and group support may improve the economic security of low-income mothers.  The goals of this project are to improve economic security for low-income women, make a positive impact on family health and well being, and to transform the existing welfare system.

The Peer Group Facilitator will be responsible for six groups of 10-12 participants per week, including facilitation, post-group surveys, data entry, and referrals to the program social worker for needed services.  The Facilitator will report to the Program Coordinator of the demonstration project.
