PROJECT BASED LEARNING/TECHNOLOGY TEACHERS
FOR RESTRUCTURED SCHOOLS
Elementary and Middle Schools

The Central North Academic Area Office (Office for Restructured Schools) seeks one Project Based Learning/Technology Teacher for each of the 19 restructured schools. This Project Based/Technology teacher will be assigned and part of the staff of the school. The teacher will be competent in working collaboratively within the classroom with classroom teachers and students. The Project Based/Technology teacher will also be instrumental in designing and implementing projects and working with students in a technology lab.

Salary: Regular Teacher Salary

Selection Criteria

? Currently employed by the School District of Philadelphia
? Teacher with a satisfactory rating for at least three years and no unsatisfactory documents currently on file
? Must have good attendance defined as no more than 10 days of absence for personal illness (excluding one verified long term illness)
? Must have a Master’s Degree
? Must have experience in Project Based and/or Service-Learning implementation (including essential questions, inquiry, research, problem solving, reflection, student portfolios, and community connections)
? Must have experience in technology (internet, word documents, spreadsheets, email)
? Must be able to present professional development to school staff
? Preferable to have taken an Act 48 course in Project Based/Service Learning
? Must have good communication skills and ability to work with community partners
? Have knowledge of PA State Standards and ability to align projects to meet standards
? Ability to collaborate in writing for project mini-grants
? Must be available to participate in compensated activities after school, on Saturdays, and during the summer
? *Proficiency in Spanish preferred

* In schools where there is a large Spanish speaking population
