Part Time After School Opportunities, Community Education Alliance of West Philadelphia

Community Education Alliance of West Philadelphia is seeking part-time after school employees to work at Belmont Academy Charter School, Preschoolers and Kindergartners, ages 3-6 and Belmont Charter School, 1st-8th grade, ages 6-15. Prospective employee(s) will start at the beginning of January through mid-June. This is a great opportunity for a student or someone seeking extra experience in education. Responsibilities will include planning and maintaining a fun, safe, and enriching After School environment for children ages 3-15.

Bilingual applicants preferred. Applicants with passion and experience teaching the following will have high priority:

1. STEM/STEAM

2. Cheerleading/Gymnastic Coach

3. CHOPPED Cooking Club (similar structure to the show on Food Network)

Applicants must be available to work Monday-Friday. During the school year, the hours are 2:45pm-6pmwith longer shifts required occasionally.

Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree or significant college experience preferred.

-Experience caring for and working with young children.

-Experience working with underserved communities.

-Classroom management skills.

-Strong planning and organizational skills.

-Ability to listen to and communicate effectively with coworkers and students’ parents.

-Degree or college coursework in the following areas is a plus: Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development, Social Work, Psychology.

In order to be considered for an interview you must have had all three clearances completed within the last 12 months. Those without the following clearances will not be considered:

  • FBI Fingerprints
  • PA Criminal Background Check
  • Childline Child Abuse Clearance
