JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE:    OUT-OF-SCHOOL TIME (OST) ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR
REPORTS TO:        PROGRAM DIRECTOR
STATUS:        PART TIME, HOURLY EMPLOYEE

Education, Experience, Qualifications:
(1) A clean FBI, Criminal, Child Abuse Record, Health Assessment.
(2) Availability from 3pm -6pm Monday through Friday (Occasionally 11pm-6pm).
(3)  A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate and 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field or…
(4)  A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate, including 600 or more hours of secondary training described in §  3270.31(c) (relating to age and training) or…
(5)  A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate, 15 credit hours from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 1 year of experience with children or…
(6)  A high school diploma or a general education development certificate and completion of a post-secondary training curriculum described in §  3270.31(c) or…
(7)  A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate and 2 years experience with children or…

Position Details:  Assists Lead instructor with classroom activities, monitoring youth, general mentoring, and engaging youth in OST Programming while maintaining a safe environment.

Specific Responsibilities:
1.    Assist students with completion of homework.
2.    Help lead instructor implement project based learning activities.
3.    Help enforce OST rules and procedures.
4.    Ensure students are never left unattended and that all students are accounted for.
5.    Use creativity to engage youth in OST Programming and activities.
6.    Assist lead instructor with safe and orderly transitions between classrooms.
7.    Additional duties as requested.
