Oral Health Programs for Underserved Populations (NJ)

Delta Dental of New Jersey Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Delta Dental of New Jersey, works to promote and assist educational projects devoted to the enhancement of dental health, as well as access to dental care programs designed to increase public awareness of the general benefits of good oral health and to improve dental health through the science of dentistry. Each year, the foundation also provides financial support to various organizations throughout New Jersey, as well as Connecticut, to reach underserved populations.

Grants will be awarded to support programs that target the developmentally disabled, vulnerable seniors, and children whose families are at or below the federal poverty level. Priority will be given to programs that will accomplish measurable results and will become self-sustaining with minimal additional funding from Delta Dental. Collaboration among local public oral health organizations, community clinics, and senior living facilities is strongly encouraged.

Grant amounts will be determined on a project-by-project basis.

To be eligible, organizations must have tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or be a public or government entity such as a municipal health department. In addition, the organizations must have a presence in the states of New Jersey or Connecticut and predominantly benefit people in those states.
