PANO Standards series to begin April 14th

The Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations and United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania will begin a series of clinics on the PANO Standards of Excellence on Wednesday, April 14th from 9am to 1pm.

The Standards for Excellence Clinic Series provides educational support for assuring the implementation of best practices for nonprofit organizations.  Created by and for the nonprofit sector, the program aims at self regulation as a means of improving operational efficiency and accountability.

The four (4-hour) Clinic Sessions are designed to meet the needs of today’s busy nonprofit executives and are a condensed nonprofit management training series that focus on the following areas Mission, Program and Openness (April 14th), Governance and Conflict of Interest (May 18th), Human Resources, Finance and Legal (June 16th), and Fundraising, Public Affairs and Public Policy on July 21st.

The course combines classroom instruction with peer-to-peer learning and covers every best practice in the Standards for Excellence Code.  Organizations enrolled in the clinic series send two representatives to each session.  Since the goals of the Standards program include a more educated and active Board, it is strongly encouraged that one representative be a board member.

The fee for two attendees for all four clinic session is $250 for PANO members and $425 for nonmembers, and also includes two Educational Resource Packet binders that contain all of the sample resources recommended by the Standards for Excellence.
