Fisher House Foundation Seeks Proposals for Newman’s Own Awards for Service Members and Families

The Fisher House Foundation, a private-public partnership that supports America’s military in times of need, is accepting proposals from nonprofit organizations for its Newman’s Own Awards for creative ideas to improve the quality of life of service members and their families.

Grants of up to $50,000 will be awarded to the most innovative plans aimed at improve the quality of life of active duty, Reserve, and National Guard service members (as well as veterans) and their families dealing with the stress of long deployments and separation and/or the long-term effects associated with service. Funds awarded through the program may not be used to pay salaries or wages.

To be eligible, an organization must be comprised primarily of volunteers and/or be a nonprofit organization as defined by Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. In addition, any organizations proposing programs that will affect or take place on a Department of Defense installation will be asked to present documentation that their programs are approved for operation by the installation commander.
