I am very pleased to announce a new addition to the COMM-ORG Papers Collection:
Chicagoland Youth and Adult Training Center: Building Strong Relationships Between Faith-Based Organizations, Government and Corporations to Transform Low-Income Communities
By Jose Wilson and Brian Banks
One of the depressing realities of so many community development initiatives is that they seem stuck on the bottom rung of the employment and housing scales. Jose and Brian discuss a program that tries to quickly move people beyond that bottom rung.
You can find the paper at the COMM-ORG “Papers” page, in the 2004 section:
http://comm-org.utoledo.edu/papers.htm
I hope that the paper inspires some discussion. Authors contribute papers to COMM-ORG in the hopes of getting comments, so please feel welcomed to contact Jose and Brian directly or discuss their paper through the list.
Thanks to both of them for contributing their paper.
