About NSP…
NSP is a student-led volunteer organization that links community members with the opportunities and resources they need to become self-sufficient. NSP operates a national network of drop-in resource centers, staffed by student volunteers from area colleges and universities, that provide immediate research and problem-solving services to community residents in need of assistance finding sustainable employment, social services, and/or educational opportunities. NSP volunteers are trained to work one-on-one with Clients to provide intensive on-site and referral services, thereby connecting individuals to the full range of personal, civic, social, and business opportunities available to them.

NSP’s 15 current Local Offices are located in: Baltimore, MD; Bronx, NY; Cambridge, MA; Chicago, IL; Durham, NC; Evanston, IL; New Haven, CT; Philadelphia, PA (3 sites); Pittsburgh, PA; Richmond, VA; San Antonio, TX; Somerville, MA; and Washington, DC.

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree minimum, MSW or other Master’s Degree is a plus; At Least 2-3 Years Professional Experience
Salary: $25,000-$30,000

Description: Program Manager (One Position Available)
NSP’s three Program Managers are responsible for working closely with student volunteers and supervising the operations of NSP Local Offices. As the primary National Office staff in charge of the service NSP provides, Program Managers are expected to play a hands-on role in the development of each NSP Local Office, directing office operations, managing leadership structures, utilizing internal systems, and helping each volunteer contribute their time most effectively. In close collaboration with the Director of Programs, Program Managers support all aspects of NSP’s programming, from training to evaluation to policy. Program Managers travel frequently (approximately 15 site visits a year), ensuring the personal connection between the National and Local Offices. The available Program Manager position is responsible for oversight of the Pittsburgh, Philadelphia (3 sites), and Washington, DC Offices.
Specific responsibilities include:
? Local Office Management – Provide support and direction to student leadership structures, with special attention to local volunteer management, training, and service delivery, including intensive consultation on client service and office performance. Daily outreach via email, telephone, and in-person.
? Staff Supervision – Provide evaluation, supervision, training, and technical assistance to a total of five full-time AmeriCorps*VISTA-funded Site Coordinators serving in the Local Offices.
? Training – Design and conduct 4 major national training events annually; create training/technical assistance resource materials for Local Office use; facilitate planning/implementation of local trainings.
? Evaluation and Reporting – Oversee reporting functions of Local Offices, compile monthly and quarterly status reports, and communicate with program funders.
? Communications – Facilitate inter-office communication and local public relations efforts.
? Policy – Ensure necessary implementation of core program policies; create and provide necessary support materials; maintain information in databases, spreadsheets, and other formats.

Requirements:
Individuals with a background in direct service, policy work, advocacy, or the service communities of Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and/or DC metro area will be given special consideration. While a Master’s Degree is not required for this position, those with any Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work are encouraged to apply. All applicants must exhibit strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Applicants should also thrive in the start-up environment of a young organization. This involves a willingness to work long hours, flexibility, creativity, ability to take initiative and a commitment to group collaboration. The ability to manage teams towards a common goal of serving clients and empowering student volunteers is essential.
