MLK365 Volunteer Expo

Posted by on January 5, 2009

Do you know of an expanding grassroots organization that could use volunteers? Or, do you know of a long-established nonprofit that could use a few more helping hands?

If so, then check out the MLK365 Volunteer Expo. The MLK365 Volunteer Expo is a venue of the Martin Luther King Day of Service Signature Site event. This year the Signature Site event will take place at Temple University’s Liacouras Center on King Day, January 19, 2009 from 9am-12pm.

The MLK365 Volunteer Expo is a venue where nonprofits will have the opportunity to distribute information about what they do and recruit volunteers to assist and support their organizations throughout the year. We are holding this Volunteer Expo to launch our brand-new, ongoing civic engagement initiative, MLK365.

The goal of MLK365 is to ensure that Dr. King’s principles of citizen action continue throughout the year. The program embraces Dr. King’s legacy of nonviolence, social justice, equality, and excellence to support and promote ongoing sustainable volunteering. MLK365 will serve as a year-round clearing-house for continuing service opportunities as well as specialized volunteer events. Global Citizen looks forward to the opportunity to match talented and skilled professionals to a committed ongoing volunteer program.
