MacArthur Community Advisory Committee Town Hall: Reimagining Public Safety – Oct 28
Posted by City of Philadelphia on October 27, 2020
Join the MacArthur Foundation Safety and Justice Challenge’s Community Advisory Committee on October 28, 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM, via the Office of Black Male Engagement Facebook Live, for Part II of our discussion on community safety policies, recent calls for defunding the police, what that means and what alternative community safety models could look like.
This Town Hall will feature representatives from our criminal justice system including police, court officials and others as we explore the successes and failures of our current system and what changes need to happen to make it a truly just system.
The goal of this series is to examine both sides of the “defund the police” debate and draw closer to a model of community safety and justice that centers the wellbeing of all citizens and that works for everyone.
