Posted by The Pulitzer Center on August 25, 2020
While COVID-19 has thrust many of us into social distancing and isolation, the global pandemic also highlights the world’s interconnections. How are communities around the globe combating the spread of the virus, and what challenges do they face? What lessons can we learn from examining other countries’ approaches?
This lesson plan spotlights how Kibera, Kenya and Hong Kong are fighting the pandemic. In the process, students will identify the policies intended to limit the spread of COVID-19 in their own communities, and how these compare to the tactics other communities are employing.
