JOB TITLE: Legacy Counselor

QUALIFACATIONS:
Bachelor?s degree in related field plus two years experience required.

RESPOSIBILITIES:
The Counselor position is a full-time position and he/she will serve in one of the Legacy?s partnering high schools. The Counselor will report directly to the Director of Legacy. The Counselor will be expected to perform all the duties outlined below:

1) fulfill the project objectives as stated in the approved proposal;
2) perform tasks as assigned by Legacy?s administration that pertain to the daily operation of the program;
3) gather, compile, and report student data and information that pertains to the grant;
4) facilitate trips, events, and activities that align with Legacy?s two components: College Preparation and Leadership Development;
5) provide and disseminate educational and college preparatory information to assigned cohort of students;
6) assemble, maintain, and complete student files throughout duration of the program year;
7) provide career and academic counseling and guidance to participants;
8) coordinate and partner with secondary schools, community agencies, organizations, and post-secondary institutions to provide services to program participants;
9) assist with assessment of student data, retention, and tracking efforts;
10) travel to National, Regional, and State Talent Search conferences or workshop opportunities as provided by Director;
