Elon University’s Center for Engaged Learning will host the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (ISSOTL) 2013 Conference in Raleigh, North Carolina, October 2-5. We hope you are making plans to join us.

Please visit http://issotl13.com to learn more about the conference and our exciting line-up of plenary speakers (including Lee S. Shulman, President Emeritus of the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching). You can view the Conference-at-a-Glance, learn about Pre-Conference Workshops – including a Council on Undergraduate Research Symposium, and browse the conference schedule. An electronic version of the full conference program will be available later this month.

Here are a few reminders as you make plans to attend:

Rooms at the Marriott Raleigh City Center and the Sheraton Raleigh Hotel must be reserved before 11:50 PM Eastern on Monday, September 2, 2013, to secure the ISSOTL 2013 discounted room rate. You can access the registration links on the “Accommodations” page (under “Logistics”) at http://issotl13.com.
Discounted (or “early-bird”) conference registration rates are available until September 16, 2013.  Visit http://www.elon.edu/e-web/academics/cel/issotl/registration.xhtml (or http://issotl13.com –> Logistics –> Registration) to register for the conference and all pre-conference workshops/symposia.
ISSOTL has secured a grant to support dramatically discounted conference registration rates and membership fees for undergraduates, graduate students, and post-docs. Visit http://www.elon.edu/e-web/academics/cel/issotl/student-grant.xhtml for more details.

Finally, the Center for Engaged Learning also is hosting ISSOTL Online 2013, a free online seminar running September 9-28, 2013. ISSOTL Online 2013 features three complementary strands on Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Foundations, Student Voices in SoTL, and Studying and Designing for Transfer. Regardless of whether you are able to join us in Raleigh, we hope you will consider participating in this online event.
