General Description:
Youth Mentors will have close relationship with youth/families. Youth Mentors will provide tutoring support, help facilitate Youth Council meetings and interact with youth during program hours. Youth mentors will also be resources accessible to program participants outside of program hours being available to assist with clients emergencies and to provide with additional training by the Counselors and will report directly to the Case Manager Supervisor. All interactions with program participants will be logged in the ETO database.

Qualifications:
1. A minimum of High School Diploma (Associated degree in Human Services or college student in related fields preferred);
2. High motivated individual who interacts well with challenging youth or young adults;
3. Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact with individuals of different racial, cultural, educational, and economic backgrounds;
4. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and in collaborative environment;
5. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and maintaining data base;
6. Excellent organizational skills, ability to effectively handle documentation and paperwork;
7. Bilingual/Bicultural in Spanish and English;
8. Valid driver’s license and car or excellent familiarity with Septa system;
9. Familiarity with the Norris Square community and its service providers.

Physical Demands:
1. Ability to lift 25 pounds
2. Ability to climb steps
