School-Year Internships

Thanks to a new partnership with the School District of Philadelphia we will have high school interns available starting at the end of April through mid June. WorkReady Internships provide Philadelphia high school students with paid workplace experiences at area businesses during the school year. These internships give young people a taste of the working world, exposure to career opportunities, and an understanding of how school is connected to economic success.

We are looking for employers to offer internships for at least 10 hours per week during the school year. There is no salary cost to you as these part-time employees are paid by Philadelphia Youth Network and are fully covered by our insurance.

Please visit http://www.workreadyphila.com/irf.html to register your company for the program. Once you sign up online, a Business Partnership Specialist will contact you to begin the process.

Summer Internships

We are pleased to announce that the WorkReady Summer Internship Request Form is now available! Despite a difficult economy, last year we served a record number of youth – 8,500 – across the whole system, including 1,000 employer-supported internships. This is something in which we can all take great pride. But we also know that there are thousands more talented students eager to take advantage of these potentially life-changing opportunities, but are unable to do so because the demand for youth employment far outstrips the supply.

This summer we are hoping to maintain our success from last year and we need your help. Please visit http://www.workreadyphila.com/internships/summer/ to register your company for the program. Once you sign up online, a Business Partnership Specialist will contact you to begin the process.

Thank you for your continued commitment to Philadelphia youth!
