Grants to Expand Substance Abuse Treatment Capacity in Targeted Areas of Need-Local Recovery-Oriented Systems of Care

Deadline: April 28, 2009

This program is designed to foster the development and utilization of local recovery-oriented systems of care to address gaps in treatment capacity by supporting person-centered and self-directed approaches for substance abuse (including alcohol and drug) treatment and recovery services in communities with serious drug problems. The purpose of this program is to expand the community’s ability to provide integrated and comprehensive community-based responses to a targeted, well-documented substance abuse treatment capacity problem and/or improve the quality and intensity of services. The focus is on providing support for local organizations, including grass-roots, faith- and community-based treatment programs, and recovery community organizations, that can link services critical to the population of focus and deliver them in a manner consistent with the principles of recovery-oriented systems of care.  For the full RFP, visit: http://samhsa.gov/grants/2009/ti_09_001.aspx
