US Airways Community Foundation Accepting Grant Applications for Nonprofit Capital Campaigns
Deadline: April 1, 2012

The US Airways Community Foundation, a philanthropic vehicle of US Airways, is accepting capital campaign grant applications from nonprofits in Charlotte, Phoenix, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C.

The foundation will support multiyear capital campaigns for 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations located in and providing services in the major metropolitan areas of Charlotte (Mecklenberg County), Philadelphia (Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties), Phoenix (Maricopa County), and Washington, D.C. (Alexandria, Arlington, District of Columbia, Fairfax-Falls Church, Loudoun, Montgomery, Prince George’s, and Prince William counties).

Grants will be awarded to formal campaigns related to constructing or remodeling a current or new building for nonprofit organizations whose missions support one of the program’s three focus areas (i.e., arts, education, or human services). Within these areas of focus, the foundation specifically funds organizations that provide the following: access to significant cultural resources that broaden communities’ artistic excellence by partnering with major arts and culture organizations; programs that improve and expand educational opportunities that result in academic achievement in literacy, science, technology, engineering, or math; and programs that provide basic human needs such as food, clothing, and shelter to help encourage, sustain, and develop economic self-reliance.

Up to $250,000 in total funding is available.

Complete program guidelines, funding restrictions, and the online application are available at the US Airways Web site.
