Through a variety of programs and services that focus on building reading, writing, math, life, technology and work skills, CFL helps a diverse population of learners meet their needs and achieve their personal and employment-related goals. CFL is the nation’s largest and Pennsylvania’s first community based nonprofit literacy provider.

We currently seek a part-time PHA GED Instructor to join our dedicated staff.

Responsibilities:
•    Instruct up to 20 GED level adult learners in the areas of reading, writing and math.
•    Work with learners to achieve  their individual and collective goals and performance standard benchmarks
•    Plan lessons in advance for GED level learners using appropriate instructional materials and techniques for developing reading, writing, math and critical thinking skills
•    Develop curriculum that includes themes relevant to students’ lives, interests and work-related goals
•    Promote student engagement and collaboration in learning
•    Conduct new student orientations and Administer TABE assessments, IDP’s, Goals Checklist, Learning Styles Inventories and on-going formal and informal assessments
•    Track and report student time and attendance on a weekly basis
•    Contact and communicate with the PHA service coordinators and Career Counselor as needed to enhance student retention and performance standard attainment
•    Perform all related administrative duties such as completing timesheets and attendance at monthly staff and team meetings; participation on at least 1 CFL committee

Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s degree
•    Strong written, communication and organizational skills
•    Computer literate
•    Experience working in a performance based project is preferred
•    History of timely and accurate data reporting
•    Highly motivated and enthusiastic

Reports to: Tina Baker-Gee, Program Manager for Workforce

Job Classification: Regular, part-time, exempt

Salary: $18.00 per hour

Location: North & South Philadelphia PHA Facilities

Schedule:  M/Th & T/F;   9-11:30; Managed Enrollment – 12 week cycles
