FREE Gateway to College Program at Montgomery County Community College

To assist youth than have dropped out of high school, ages 16 to 20, in Montgomery County enter the emerging workforce and achieve their future goals — secure a better paying job, advance their career, earn a better wage, build life skills and gain self sufficiency – the Youth Empowerment Program is offering FREE training and workshops at Montgomery County Community College to qualified young adults.

Eligible youth will enroll in one of the Montgomery County College Community College certificate program in health science or manufacturing technology. Youth will have the opportunity to earn their Commonwealth diploma and career certification, work in summer internships, receive holistic student support and assistance with career placement.

Program Eligibility Criteria:
•    Students must be 16 -20 years of age
•    Disengaged from high school for at least 6 months
•    8th grade reading level
•    Demonstrated readiness for reengagement

Program Benefits:
•    Diploma – Commonwealth Diploma awarded after completing first 30 College credit hours
•    Employment – Students enter career pathways earning employment credentials
•    Post Secondary – Initial 30 credit hours at the college will stack to associate degree
•    Job Placement – assistance upon completion

The program is offered at both the Blue Bell and Pottstown campuses.  The campus is conveniently located near public transportation.

These programs are offered in collaboration with the Montgomery County Workforce Investment Board.
