PEC sets forum on education of homeless kids
The People’s Emergency Center will sponsor a Forum on the Education for Homeless Children and Youth, on November 14th at United Way. The forum will offer an opportunity to discuss key policy issues about the Philadelphia School District’s work to helping one of our most vulnerable groups succeed in school.
Speakers include Barbara Duffield, Policy Director for the National Association for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth, and Sheldon Winnick, Coordinator for the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Homeless Children’s Initiative as well as leadership from the School District of Philadelphia.
The forum takes place 10am-noon at United Way, 7 Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia. For more information or to register, email contact information to policy@pec-cares.org or call 215-382-7522 ext. 264.
