ABOUT THE ART OF COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAM
The Art of Community Service Program is an arts-based residency program that lets American high school students collaborate on a community-enhancing art project with foreign teens their own age. Working alongside a professional artist/team leader, the art project forms the basis for dialogue, insight into respective cultures and the development of new friendships. Philadelphia Muralist, Michelle Ortiz, will lead a a team of high school students to Isla de Chira, Costa Rica from July 18 – August 2, 2005.

ABOUT MYX: MULTICULTURAL YOUTH EXCHANGE
MYX is a Philadelphia-based, nonprofit organization, which uses the arts as a means of exploring cultural diversity with youth to promote global tolerance. Since Spring 2002, MYX has educated young people through quarterly youth art exhibits, an annual youth identity mural project and art-based diversity workshops at the MYX Gallery.

MYX: Multicultural Youth eXchange operates under the umbrella of Global Education Motivators, Inc. (GEM), a Pennsylvania non-profit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
