Final Edition of Partnerships: A Journal of Service-Learning and Civic Engagement

Posted by North Carolina Campus Compact on May 5, 2020

Read the latest and final edition of Partnerships: A Journal of Service-Learning and Civic Engagement, North Carolina Campus Compact’s peer-reviewed, online journal, hosted by the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

After more than a decade, we will cease publication of the journal this spring. More details and acknowledgements of those who have played a key role in producing the journal over the years are on the  website. A special thank you to Dr. Spoma Jovanovic, Editor since 2012, and UNC Greensboro and Appalachian State University, who have both helped host the journal.

Volume 11, No. 1 (Spring  2020)

What a year 2020 has turned out to be! COVID-19 is certainly the focus of our attention these days, and this spring 2020 issue of Partnerships: A Journal of Service-Learning and Civic Engagement provides some alternative, related readings that scholars and practitioners will appreciate.

The articles are timely in that they consider service-learning and civic engagement in the contexts of science and the news, social justice and social entrepreneurship, international education and leadership, and the alignment between stated and enacted values. In addition, as we prepared to publish this final issue, we invited our long-time editorial board members to reflect on their involvement, vision, experiences in the field. A few of them took us up on the offer! Finally the Spring 2020 Partnerships features a number of reviews of recent books written for our field to help guide us all in planning next steps to deepen our teaching, research, and impact within our communities.
