General Information:
Weavers Way Coop seeks a farmer to manage its one acre farm and associated outreach programs. Weavers Way is a vibrant grocery-centered Coop of 3000+ households located in northwest Philadelphia. The farm was founded in 2000. It is located within an arboretum, two miles from the Coop store. The farm?s mission is to grow organic vegetables, flowers, and other products for the Coop membership. The farm also provides hands-on educational opportunities for neighborhood residents.

Qualifications: We seek a farmer to oversee and conduct operations of the Coop?s organic farm and its associated education programs. He or she must be committed to utilizing the skills and energy of our membership to achieve the farm?s goals. Experience in organic farming is required. A desire and ability to teach sustainable farming and gardening concepts to a diverse audience is also required. Experience working with volunteer committees and volunteer laborers is desired. The successful candidate will possess good written and oral communication skills and the ability to prepare annual budgets.

Compensation: Hourly wage dependent on experience and skill level. Benefits include health insurance, dental plan, 401K, and store discount.
