Facilitator Trainings: Parent Workshop on Early Reading Skills

Posted on August 20, 2018

The Parent Workshop on Early Reading Skills has been developed, delivered multiple times and refined, and is now ready for more facilitators to deliver the workshop to parents.

Workshop Description provided to Parents:
This highly-interactive, Parent Workshop on Early Reading Skills, is for parents of K-3 students. Parents will learn about the important skills their child needs to become a super reader – hearing the sounds, knowing the letters, and reading smoothly. AND, parents will have lots of time to explore games and activities they can play with their child. AND, parents will take home their own packet of materials to use with their child every day. By the end of the workshop: 1) parents will know the important skills an early reader needs; 2) have experience with a take-home kit of games and activities; and 3) be empowered to speak with their child’s teacher about these skills.

Facilitator Orientation Description:
The 2 ½ hour session will walk through all aspects of the parent workshop (PPT, facilitator notes, videos, parent activities, take home materials) and answer all questions. Facilitators will be provided with detailed information on how Rb4 will support them in arranging and delivering the workshop. Attendance at an orientation session is required for anyone delivering this workshop.
