Executive Director, Women’s Way

Posted by on August 26, 2013

The new Executive Director for WOMEN’S WAY will be accountable for providing a strategic vision for the development and achievement of the organization’s mission in partnership with the strong and committed Board of Directors.  She/he will work closely with the Board of Directors and staff to execute the new 2013-2016 strategy, mission and vision that aims to achieve strong growth over the next three years.  The Executive Director will communicate progress versus the Plan and other relevant objectives to the Board.  The Executive Director advises, recommends, and assists the Board of Directors in the formulation of additional programs and policies governing the organization, and implements new initiatives and directives of the Board.

The Executive Director also oversees the overall day-to-day operations of WOMEN’S WAY and provides guidance to members of the staff.  The incumbent directs the design, implementation, and integration of the structures, systems, and processes needed to build capacity and execute the strategic and tactical business plans. She/he works collaboratively with  staff to shape an organizational culture and infrastructure which will promote and sustain growth, and ensure the development and delivery of high quality services to the WOMEN’S WAY communities. She/he will also be expected to exemplify the Values of the organization through her/his leadership.

Critically, the Executive Director will be seen as the external ambassador for the organization; raising visibility in existing and new communities; and advocating for the mission while making sure WOMEN’S WAY is high on the community radar.  In this role she/he will interact with other Executive Directors of our coalition partners, the Mayor’s office, local politicians and major donors and foundations. Building new relationships with potential donors and supporters will be key to the ongoing health and impact of the organization and this role will drive that strategy.  Internally, the Executive Director manages a staff of ten who have daily responsibility for Grant-making, Finance, Development, and Education/Advocacy.  She/he will guide, mentor and develop the team to ensure consistency and excellence.
