The Executive Director is the senior administrator of Haverford’s Center for Peace and Global Citizenship who must be able to function effectively in a highly collaborative academic and administrative environment. The Executive Director reports to the Provost of the College and is responsible for supervising the Center’s staff on a day-to-day basis and collaborating with the Center’s Steering Committee and its Faculty Director to advance the Center’s mission. The Executive Director serves as a principal representative of the Center to the external and international communities and in this capacity works closely with the College’s Office of Institutional Advancement.
The successful candidate will be a team-oriented individual with a background that encompasses:significant administrative experience within a non-profit environment including budget oversight and a record of working with external boards and constituencies; significant academic experience that can be in the areas of academic administration, student advising and or faculty relations; significant knowledge of international programs and organizations and, ideally, direct experience with the development and administration of international partnerships and programs significant knowledge and experience with domestic-based programming models that target community building, civic engagement, and social justice. An advanced degree is welcome and a record of significant work experience overseas is also highly desirable.
