Executive Director Position Available with Bread & Roses!

Our current Executive Director has announced her plans to leave Bread & Roses over the summer. Please help us find a new Director!

Bread & Roses promotes racial and economic justice at the local, state, national and international levels by providing financial and technical assistance to community-based groups engaged in progressive activism in the Delaware Valley. A unique partnership of donors and activists, Bread & Roses Community Fund is part of a national funding movement supporting social change philanthropy. After more than 30 years, Bread & Roses remains committed to supporting change not charity.

As Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Director is responsible for the organization’s consistent achievement of its mission and financial objectives. The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors, consults with the Advisory Board, and provides guidance to the Community Grantmaking Committee.

Qualifications The successful candidate will offer the following:

* An understanding of and commitment to Bread & Roses mission
* A Bachelors degree (an advanced degree in a relevant subject area preferred)
* Minimum of seven to ten years of experience in social justice work
* Proven track record in fundraising, fiscal management and board and volunteer development
* Ability to interpret and communicate Bread and Roses strategic focus on racial and economic justice and community-based organizing
* Political sophistication
* Exceptional interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with a broad range of internal and external constituents
